Hello, Pastor Alwyn here.
I just want to write to all you Calvary Chapel Westminster Jesus People, and let you know that you are loved and that you are in my prayers. Although I don’t know everyone’s phone numbers or emails, I still wanted to be in touch with everyone to let everyone know that you are all in my thoughts and that I am missing you all. So, I figured that this would be the best way to do it.
I hope you are all keeping safe and well, although there have been a few of us that have contracted this virus, so please keep praying for one another. We all have friends who need a word of encouragement, so I also want to encourage all of us to stay in touch with our friends, just to give one another a call from time to time, or drop them a line, and simply let them know that they are loved and appreciated. I think it’s what is known as giving one another ‘a virtual hug.’ I really am grateful for our church fellowship and for the love that the Lord has created between us all, and I am missing everyone, very much.
As for Gloria and myself, we take a prayer walk through Green Park every other day or so. We pray for our fellowship, trying to remember everybody’s name, and for those faces that we don’t know the names of. We pray for our family and our friends in different parts of the world; and for all those working in the NHS and in those jobs that are on the front lines of this pandemic. Then we make our way up to Piccadilly Circus, down into St James’ Park. And as we reach the back end of Downing Street, we pray for our Prime Minister, Boris, and the government team around him. Then we make our way over to Buckingham Palace, where we pray for our Queen, and for our country, that the Lord will pour out His Spirit upon our land, and that out of this darkness, the Lord will bring about great things.
I also want to thank you for checking in on our livestream bible studies. I hope it all helps to draw our attention back onto Jesus after the constant media focus that is currently being placed upon the coronavirus. I hope that God’s word will lift all of our eyes off of the temporal, back onto the eternal, so that our lives are not governed by fear, but by faith and love.
2Cor 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Rom. 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established.
Phil 1:27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.
3 John 14 But I hope to see you shortly, and we will speak face to face.
Much love to everyone. Please stay safe and stay strong in faith.
